Thank you for visiting my schools assistance page

Hopefully I have covered below many of your queries but please use the link at the bottom of the page to contact me if you should need any more details.

Recently 'What a Hullabaloo!' received a fantastic learning response from children at Huntington Primary school in York, and the subject matter was thoroughly enjoyed.

Below is a brief overview of what I am hoping to achieve with my work.
Please check out the synopsis for a more detailed description.
I have followed this with my offer of assistance to other schools interested in using my material.

What I am hoping to do with my writing is to inspire children to achieve greater results in English whilst enjoying working with the English language.
At the same time I hope to inspire and assist others like myself with learning difficulties.
For example, less able writers, dyslexic students and boys who are lower achieving in writing.
I have gained knowledge and awareness about the trend across the country, which shows that boys are lower attaining at writing in comparison to girls based on Key Stage 2 SATs results.

'What a Hullabaloo!' was written and published as a self-awareness exercise during my therapy training to help me recognise that I no longer need to be ashamed of my learning difficulties.
The amazing response from year 6 children of all learning levels has inspired me to approach those in education with a proposal that could result in children benefiting from this enjoyable and unique incite into the English language, and how it could be used to inspire learning.

It was also stated that 'WAH!' worked well when following on from
David Wiesner's visually stimulating book the brilliant 'Tuesday'.
It was suggested that after experiencing working with '
Tuesday' that the children were better able to visualise and portray the imagery captured within my words, and that the two books worked well together in very different ways.

I do have some copies of the book put aside for review or trial purposes and would be happy to forward one to schools interested in working with the material.
I can also send the work electronically via Email if required

Should you feel that the material is satisfactory and has the potential to inspire creativity I will gladly liase directly with those interested in using my work, and assist whenever possible throughout the process if required.
(The children at Huntington were very moved by my taking an active interest in their work)
I would also like to offer schools, royalty free permission for the use of my book 'What a Hullabaloo!' when used in conjunction with learning purposes.

My assisting with the work could be done as it was for Huntington Primary via phone link or Email to remove costs.
Mark Legge from Huntington Primary has also given me permission to share the lesson plans he created for the work, which can be reused or adapted to suit.

Because the children were so excited at Huntington Primary to be having their work published on this website, I am happy to add any other inspired work if requested free of charge.
The site at the moment is zero cost to me, so it's just a matter of uploading it into the designated area.
All I would ask is that any submitted work was emailed to me in MS Word format for ease of transfer.

All work completed by the children would be
copy-write to myself and the school of its origination. This would be done on the website to prevent unlawful use.

I also had the thought that someone in the education department could maybe publish the collected works in book format.
This I am sure would greatly raise esteem in children involved in the project and could potentially be a source or revenue for schools.
Inter schools poetry and writing competitions could also be organised and held on the site to keep the children actively interested in their own work and the work of others.

It would be very rewarding for me to know that my work has influenced children, and maybe even helped some of those that suffer as I did due to learning difficulties.
I am very aware of cost parameters and limited budgets and offer my assistance wherever possible at no cost, as my reward comes by way of achievement.

This website is an advertisement free site, as I want it to remain child friendly and a fun place for them to visit.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you, or someone you can recommend may be interested in working with the book.
